Simone Masi

Simone Gabriele Masi, is a former Professional Canadian centre‑back who progressed through several of British Columbia’s major youth development programs, including the Italian Canadian Sports Federation, Cliff Avenue United FC, Coquitlam Metro‑Ford SC, Mountain United FC, and the BC Provincial Team. In 2019, he joined the Vancouver Whitecaps FC Academy, where he continued his technical and tactical development within a professional training environment.

Masi chose the college route and played the 2021 season with Simon Fraser University, making 16 appearances and earning multiple honours, including All‑GNAC First Team, D2 All‑West Region, and SFU Freshman of the Year. In 2022, after one season with SFU, he signed a professional contract with the Whitecaps FC 2 in the MLS NEXT Pro, appearing in 26 matches across two seasons.

After his time with the Vancouver Whitecaps organization, he played for Columbus FC in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League before moving to Italy in early 2024 to join US Pistoiese in Serie D, where he made seven appearances. Due to medical conditions he has retired from playing Professional Soccer.

Simone holds Canada Soccer certifications at all grassroots levels, including Active Start, Fundamentals, Learn to Train, and Soccer for Life, reflecting his dedication to age-appropriate coaching and long-term player development.
